About me

I am a Portuguese young feminist with a passion for cinema.

Currently studying architecture, I am a volunteer at a women’s rights NGO called Rede de Jovens para a Igualdade, where I hold the position of Chairwoman of the General Assembly. I am also a volunteer at the Council of Europe’s No Hate Speech Campaign, which deals with online hate speech. Besides these more institutional activities, I am also active in online media: I am the co-founder of the online feminist radio show O Clítoris da Razão, I write for my University’s cinema group Cinema ParaIST and am a collaborator of the left wing magazine A Comuna, contributing with media criticism pieces.

I have a general interest in all things art, cinema being the biggest passion. I can often be found at the Cinemateca, watching old great films – I have a soft spot for silent movies – and I don’t miss a cinema festival in Lisbon, my favourites being DocLisboa and IndieLisboa. I have studied cinema and contributed to some features, both as director and sound director. I play the cello, as I studied at a music school (Instituto Gregoriano de Lisboa) for 8 years. I hold a diploma on Drawing by the beaux arts school Sociedade Nacional de Belas Artes, and I still sketch regularly.

Last but not least, I love learning languages: I am fluent in English, French and Spanish, speak some Italian and am currently studying German and Mandarin.
